SUNDAY DHAMMA SCHOOL

sunday dhamma school

Our Dhamma School is geared towards children of all ages to introduce them to core tenets of Buddhism including kindness and compassion, karma and results (vipaka) and the middle path philosophy. These teachings are helpful to young minds in discerning good actions and behavior, developing respect towards elders, inculcating kindness and compassion towards all living beings and identifying suitable friends.

Students are also introduced to basic practices in meditation. Classes are generally held on Sundays from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm with breaks during school holidays and other religious events. The classes are conducted in English in three age groups of 4 to 7-year old, 8 to 12-year-old, and 13 years old and above.

In addition, a session on the Sinhala language is also offered at the end of the religious sessions.
